Dr. Jarod A. Zepp, Ph.D. is originally from Denver, Colorado where he completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of Colorado Denver in 2007. His career in science started when he was a research technician at the University of Colorado Health Science Center. Under the guidance and support from his mentors, he then decided to move to the midwest to attend graduate school at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland Ohio in 2009. While in graduate school he worked on mechanisms of inflammatory cytokine signaling in the lab of Dr. Xiaoxia Li Ph.D, at the Cleveland Clinic’s Lerner Research Institute. During this time he became interested in developmental and regenerative biology specifically in the lung. In 2015, Jarod joined the lab of Dr. Edward Morrisey Ph.D. at the University of Pennsylvania where he examined signaling pathway activity in subsets of lung mesenchymal cells.
In 2020, Jarod started his own lab at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) in the division of Pulmonary Medicine. His lab joins several other groups that make up the CHOP Center for Lung Research.
